October's Activities

We had a great month in October . The first 2-day seminar was by Dakota Collectibles,  Educator Virginia Hankins. We used  the software, AlphaSizer, to build our design on a gift bag which was completly stitched in the hoop. We had a great time and it everyone loved the project.

Last week we enjoyed Suzanne Shelton, "Olivia Anne Designs" 2-day seminar. The first day was an introduction to applique. The second day we did "Nelson", which was an appliqued pumpkin. We now have all Suzanne's books, appliques and kits. The great thing about Olivia Anne's Designs are that they are ready to stitch, no fusing of parts, no fuss or mess. Her appliques are great for quilts, wall hangings, purses, and sweatshirts. As a teacher, Suzanne was very thorough and patient. Everyone had fun and finished their project.

Sew Bizz will invite Suzanne back for another "Intro to Applique" in January 2010. Then in February, we will begin the "The Barnyard Quilt" as a hand's on class. We will take the first eight people. Each month we will have a new block to work on. So hurry and sign up. You will not want to miss her class.
