Here at Sew Bizz we are experiencing a lot of rain. Our gardens are full of fruit but they are mildewing! On the upside, the moisture is great for our skin, keeps us glowing! And guess what we are doing while it's raining outside? Sewing our hearts content out.
While it's been unusually wet this summer, we hope you have been very productive inside with sewing!
We sure have at Sew Bizz. Our first trade show of the year was in May, "Second Annual Applique Conference" at the BJCC. We had a great time seeing everyone from around the country. There was a
winner from Florida that won our donation machine, one of the new V-Series XE2200 Embroidery Machine by Brother, a value of $4999! Next, it was off to Oak Mountain Middle School for "QuiltFest 2013" with the Birmingham Quilters. They are a great group of ladies. If you would like to become a member go to
www.bhamquilters.com to check them out. We gave away a PQ1500 Quilt Club by Brother and a member of the guild was the proud owner.
In July BERNINA University closed out with a bang! So many exciting new products and classes that it will take a whole blog to itself ! So stay tuned for a blog on everything that was shown!
August will bring a day long sewing program with BERNINA's " Super Sew Day". There will be a webinar presented by a BERNINA Educator on the uses of the newest software DesignWorks. Call and
sign up as space is limited.
We will host our very first "Embroidery Retreat" in September 13th through 15th. It will be held at Magnolia Park Retreat, "Home of Alabama Quilts of Valor", in Moody, Alabama. A fee of $185 will
take care of your meals and snacks for all day Friday, Saturday and a half day on Sunday. An additional
$50 is needed to cover the kits for all the projects. You may pay half of the fee by August 1st and all is required by the 15th of August. There will be a list of projects and also "Over Achievers" classes too. We
hope this will be a great success so that we can plan a semiannual retreat for the spring of 2014.
Happy Sewing,
Carol

Everything Applique Conference Ap 28th 8:30 to 4:30 BJJC
We will be a vendor at the Everything Applique Conference at the BJCC - East Hall or Rooms on April 27th for a Meet & Greet of all the attendees. On Saturday 28th, our Brother area will be open for business. We will have lots of deals and product for sale. Myself and Pat Pike will be there with handouts and free "stuff". Be sure to go to our Facebook page for Sew Bizz and like us and there will be something special for you when you come by the booth. Details have been sketchy, we know, but this is the first time for these girls.
It reminds me when around 60 of us ladies gather in a little hotel in Paducah, about 1995/1996, when Brother first came out with PE Design. There was June Mullinger,Penny, Ann, Cookie, myself and coworker Mary Smith and lots of others that met and devoured the new exciting software. We had so much fun putting names and faces together, known only by our computer names, "Annthegran, or Cookiemonster"! I truley hope this is the beginning of something big! The foundation of people that met and shared information back then became so large that it had to be held in Vagas! Does anyone remember when? It grew and grew, then changed hands (several times, I think)and names. Let's face it, it is a huge undertaking. There is still a reminant left that will be holding a conference in Marrietta, Georgia this weekend, The American-Embroidery Conference April 25th -29th. WOW a whole week, could you stand it!! And as we go to support this group of talented ladies, we wish them great success. Who knows where they will all end up!

Updating Fabric on Sew Bizz Online Store
If you haven't checked out the web site lately, you are in for a big treat. MORE FABRIC !!! We are working hard to get all of our products on the web site so that you can just look up the new fabrics and order the amount you want. We do ask for your patience as it is very time consuming, but we are determined to get everything that is in the store on the web site.
June's classes are up on the calendar. We have several new classes, such as, Foot Notes. This is a class for Brother and Bernina feet, but could apply for most sewing machine feet.
We have several promotions going on for June. OESD has a Spring Collection available for FREE, if you shop with us and spend at least $50, a value of $75. We have a large selection of OESD and Sulky stabilizers, by the yard and by the roll.
We have a special discount on all feet during our class on Foot Notes. You will be amazed at the different uses for some of your feet.
Sew Many Designs has a new Spring collection. It is called, Song of Spring 5x7 designs. It has a cute Lady Bug that goes great with some of the new lady bug fabric.
Lots and lots of new patterns, such as Pink Fig. We have just about all of their patterns. Wendy Schoen, Dasiey May, has new packaging and is back in stock.
Hurry and come see all the new "stuff". Hope to see you soon.
Oh by the way, we are up to date on all machine repairs. There is a quick turn around at present. If you need to know how fast you can get your machine back, just call the number for the tech on the web site and he will answer. How great is that!!
Keep Stitching,
Carol
